El Chorro offers Class IV whitewater rafting tours on the upper Naranjo River.

A 45-minute drive takes you to the entry point, and after a detailed safety briefing and practice time, your adventure begins. This rafting tour is known as Dry Season Class IV, rising from the dry season to Class V, but is often inaccessible during the rainy season.

You'll need to be in top physical condition for this intense but challenging ride, this rapid is suitable for both experienced rafters and adventurous beginners. They race from the top of the Quepos hill and race through a breathtaking three-mile switchback through a narrow canyon. Pass through very narrow spaces, pass through sharp turns with huge rocks and suddenly plunge into the abyss. 

“El Chorro” loosely translates to “jet gorge”, due to the way the powerful water propels the raft. Apart from the gorge, you will navigate through drops, and steep rapids and your guide will assist in maneuvering through the challenging boulders and bends. This trip is not for the faint of heart.
